Belgian Jupiler league giants KRC Genk insists Paul Onuachu is already a legend at the club, despite joining two years ago.

This comes after the player scooped the best player in the and golden shoe award after a fulfilling season in the league.

Shortly after he was announced as the player of the year, KRC Genk released an emotional statement through their website and social media handles, declaring him a legend of the club, complete sports reports.

“As a club we are of course very proud of this election of Paul. He is already a legend of KRC Genk. It is a reward for him personally and for the great season that the team has put down.” Genk wrote in a statement on their official website.

Onuachu joined Genk from Danish side FC Midtjylland in the €4.5m deal back in 2019, but he managed to score just seven goals in return.

The Super Eagles hitman man however enjoyed a record-breaking 2020-2021 campaign with the club, scoring 33 goals in 38appearance.

Onuachu helped the club win 2020-2021 Belgian cup and also led them back to the UEFA Champions League.
