Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has asked fans to give striker Odion Ighalo some tm=ime to settle into the national side since rescinded his decision to retire in 2019.

Ighalo struggled to hit form in the final group game of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

He was paired alongside striker, Victor Osimhen and it was the Napoli striker who got the goal for the team.

Speaking to the press, Rohr defended Ighalo’s performance and pleaded with fans to give the 32-year-old striker time to adjust to the team.

“He needs a little time to find the harmony.”

“You need a little patience with Ighalo,” Rohr told reporters after the match.

“He’s not been with us for more than one year. He needs a little time to find harmony.

“I think we saw interesting things together with [Victor] Osimhen. And on the side of Ighalo, Osimhen will grow and will learn a lot.

“And I think the chances we had were also coming with the help of Ighalo”

“So let’s have a little patience. Give us a little time to have the team together and the goals will come again,” he said.
