Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he always listens to Olamide’s songs before every game, Soccernet.ng reports.

Most football players always have a series of activities that they carry out before every game to help reassure themselves that it would go well. Some players have some really bizarre activities, while others just keep it simple.

For example, Gary Lineker never kicked a ball toward the goal while warming up. He did this intentionally as he felt he had to save his best for the game.

The former England international thought if he scored a goal in his pre-match warm-up then he would waste one of his goals in the match.

Former Barcelona star Luis Suarez, before every game, kisses the tattoo on his wrist which has the names of his children written on it.

Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney had a habit of always eating cereals, particularly coco pops before every game

For Osimhen, his is not so weird. At least he has a series of normal activities, albeit in a particular sequence.

In an interview with Pooja, the 2022/23 Capocannoniere winner revealed that listening to past hits from YBNL boss Olamide always inspires him.

“During my spare time before the game, I listen to Olamide’s rap. There’s some kind of rap that he’s done in recent years that is really inspirational to me.

“Olamide is my best musician in Nigeria. I have a playlist where I go to listen to his songs.

“Before I go to team meetings, I say my prayers. Then while I’m in the team bus, I listen to Nas and Damian Marley’s “Only the strong survive”.

“When I listen to these songs, I always put it in my head that I’m going to war every time I’m playing.

“Only the strong survive means that I want to win, I don’t want to lose. These are the songs that psyche me up to go so high on the pitch.

Osimhen would likely lead Nigeria’s assault on the Leone stars on Sunday. The Super Eagles star would hope to be in his elements and power Nigeria to victory.
