Davido’s uncle, the Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, called Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade on Saturday to praise her for her performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Soccernet reports.

Nigeria had a decent outing at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup. Despite the shenanigans behind the scenes, with the team not getting paid their bonuses and allowances and coach Randy Waldrum’s clash with the NFF, Nigeria put up a decent showing.

They picked up a point against Canada in their first game after a goalless draw; they shocked co-hosts Australia in their second game, beating them 3-2. The nine-time African champions then picked up a point against Ireland in their final group game to finish second from their group.

Unfortunately for them, they were stopped by England in the round of 16. The Super Falcons gave a very good account of themselves, pushing the Three Lionesses, but their lack of cutting edge in the final third eventually cost them.

Despite losing out, the team has received a lot of praise for their performance, and the latest person on that train is Governor Adeleke.

In a video by the Super Falcons Show, he called Atletico Madrid Femeni star Ajibade to praise her for her performance at the World Cup. He also invited her to the state house alongside Rofiat Imuran, who hails from Osun State.

Ajibade was brilliant for the Super Falcons at the World Cup. She missed Nigeria’s first game, but she played the other three games, and she was a constant threat in the attack.

The 23-year-old attacker hails from Eesorun in Osun state, while Imuran hails from Ile Ogbo.
