Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has shared his reaction following Fulham's defeat to Chelsea in their Premier League opening fixture.

Alvaro Arbeloa's side suffered a disappointing 3-2 loss to the Blues at Craven Cottage on Monday night.

Joao Pedro gave Chelsea an early lead after just 30 seconds before Josh King equalised for the home side in the 23rd minute.

The Blues' new star, Morgan Rogers, restored their lead four minutes before half-time before Cole Palmer added the third four minutes after the restart to give Chelsea a two-goal cushion.

Premier League debutant Gonzalo Garcia, who joined the Cottagers from Real Madrid this summer, pulled one back for Fulham in the 54th minute as Chelsea held on to secure the victory.

Bassey, who captained Fulham on the night, praised his side for their fighting spirit.

“Good fight, unlucky we couldn’t take it back. We carry on building. Thanks for the support,” Bassey wrote on X.
