Golden Eaglets set for WAFU Zone B championship

Nigeria's U17 Boys national team, Eaglets will participate in the upcoming regional WAFU B under 17 tourneys scheduled for 2021.

According to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), the Golden Eaglets will go ahead with plans to compete at the tournament, despite the cancellation of the FIFA U-17 World Cup due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, Brila.net reports.

Coach Fatai Amoo had been in camp preparing the team for the tournament.

The WAFU B tournament will serve as the U17 African Cup Nations qualifiers to be hosted by Benin Republic.

The tournament was earlier rescheduled from December 5 to 20, 2020, however, it will now hold in 2021.
