Ghanaian journalists troll Super Eagles after ST thumping

The Super Eagles recorded their biggest victory against Sao Tome and Principe in their second game of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

The three-time African champions thumped their opponents by 10-0 in a group A qualifier game that was played in Agadir, Morocco on Monday, June 13.

Many Super Eagles fans took to social media to congratulate the team on the overwhelming victory.

Elsewhere across the West African sub-region, the score line became the biggest talking point in Ghana.

Some local sports journalists in Ghana saw the opportunity to take another dig at their bitter rivals after denying the Super Eagles a seventh appearance at the World Cup finals.

Ghana edged out Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup play-offs in March after the Eagles failed to defeat the Black Stars at the MKO Stadium in Abuja to secure a World Cup ticket.

Trolling the Super Eagles after their 10-0 drubbing against Sao Tome, some Ghanaian journalists described Nigeria's feat as unleashing the frustration of the World Cup miss on Sao Tome.
