Gernot Rohr scouts 40 Eagles for Benin Republic and Lesotho

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr said he has been monitoring the performance of his players and he’s happy with what he have seen so far.Rohr and his boys will reunite for the final phase of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in March, where they will take on Benin Republic and Lesotho.

The Coach disclosed to brila.net, Wednesday, that he and his crew have scouted around 40 players for possible invitation for the two matches.

“We also see everybody from our list of around 40 players. We’ve seen them playing, some of them are injured actually like Chukwueze and I hope he’ll be ready for our game in the end of March, for the two games; one in Benin Republic and the other one in Lagos like you know.”

Rohr also confirmed that youngster Josh Maja is back on his radar following his eye catching performances for Fulham in the English Premier League.

“We’re scouting every match from our players and yes I’m very happy for him (Josh Maja) because I saw him a lot in Bordeaux, not playing, on the bench coming in sometimes, but not really succeeding, now in his first match he scored two goals, we are happy for him,” he concluded.

Meanwhile the Super Eagles need just a point from their two upcoming matches to seal qualification for Cameroon 2022.
