Fulham interested in Super Eagles star

Fulham are in talks with Everton over the signing of Super Eagles Star Alex Iwobi ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

Sky Sports Premier League disclosed this on their X handle on Tuesday.

The Cottagers are keen to bolster their attack following the £46million exit of star forward Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal earlier this summer.

Iwobi, who is out injured, has entered the final year of his contract at Goodison Park.

He got injured in Everton’s 4-0 defeat away to Aston Villa and thus missed out on the Toffees’ 1-0 home loss to Wolves last weekend.

Fulham’s current manager Marco Silva was in charge at Everton when Iwobi joined from Arsenal in 2019.

According to Sky Sports, aside Fulham, two other clubs are also interested in the services of the Nigerian international.

While one is a club from the Premier League the other is outside England.

Iwobi has only scored nine goals and 16 assists from 140 appearances with the Toffees.

If he eventually joins Fulham, he will become teammate with Calvin Bassey who signed for Fulham from Ajax.
