Former Chelsea captain Karen Carney has showered praise on Nigeria's Alex Iwobi after his exceptional display against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
The Super Eagles midfielder starred as Fulham beat Brighton 3-1 at Craven Cottage on Thursday, December 5.
Iwobi scored twice to help Fulham move above Nottingham Forest on the Premier League table to the 6th position.
Speaking on the performance of the former Arsenal man, Carney, who featured for Chelsea Ladies from 2015 to 2019, hailed Iwobi's performance under Marco Silva.
“He has always been a worker, grafter in the team, but it’s that quality. I think tonight, playing in that more central role, he had that responsibility,” Carney said.
“He’s matured now, he’s 28, he’s an experienced player under a manager that gets the best out of people.
“Marco is certainly getting the best out of Alex Iwobi there.”
Iwobi has so far registered five goals and three assists in 14 Premier League appearances for the Cottagers.
