Nigerian international Sadiq Umar got his campaign at Real Sociedad off to a flying start on Saturday, September 3 against Atletico Madrid at the Anoeta.

The 25-year-old scored on his debut for his new club as he headed home a 55th-minute equalizer to cancel out Alvaro Morata's first-half strike for Diego Simeone's men.

The Super Eagles striker had already scored in his last La Liga appearance for his former club UD Almeria against Sevilla a week earlier.

Sadiq joined Sociedad for a fee believed to be around the region of €20m plus €5m in add-ons.

He signed a six-year contract with Sociedad which will see him remain at the club until 2028.

Impressed by his incredible display, some fans took to social media to applaud the ex-Roma striker for his performance on his debut against a strong La Liga opposition.
