The Nigeria U17 Women’s National Team, the Flamingos, have just arrived in India for their 6th World Cup campaign.

The team arrived in Goa after a five-hour stopover in Mumbai, India, and players and officials have since settled down at Grand Hyyat Hotel.

The Flamingos had a successful 10-day training camp in Turkey, where they played some test games, defeating Galatasaray 3-1 and losing by the same margin to Fenerbahce.

Nigeria are lodged in Group B of the tournament billed to take place from October 11–30 in India alongside Germany, New Zealand, and Chile. They will kick-start their campaign on October 11 against Germany at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Margao, play New Zealand for their second group game three days later at the same venue, and round off group games against Chile at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, on October 17.

The West Africans are making their sixth appearance in the tournament since making their debut album inaugural edition in 2008, with their best result being quarterfinal finishes in 2010, 2012, and 2014 editions.
