Interim Super Eagles head coach Austin Eguavoen is shining his armor ahead of the upcoming 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Super Eagles will take on the Knights of the Mediterranean in a crucial AFCON qualifiers double-header next month, with the first leg taking place in Uyo on October 11 before the team will travel away for the return encounter on October 15.
As the two matches beckon, speculations about who will be invited by Eguavoen have taken center stage among fans.
Latest reports from OwnGoalNigeria indicate that Eguavoen has included five new players on his provisional squad list for the clash against Libya.
The 59-year-old has reportedly recalled Sevilla’s Chidera Ejuke, who was on target in the Spanish La Liga for Rojiblancos on Tuesday night.
The remaining four players include Kenneth Omeruo, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Jamilu Collins, and Getafe’s Chrisantus Uche.
Eguavoen, who is in charge of the Super Eagles for his fourth spell as caretaker coach, led the team to beat Benin Republic 3-0 and recorded a goalless draw with Rwanda in his first two games in the qualifiers.
