Finidi George has lauded Rivers United’s victory over Plateau United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Port Harcourt-based club reclaimed their top spot in the NPFL following a slender 1–0 win at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday, April 12.
Taofeek Otaniyi teed up Wisdom Samuel for the only goal of the game in the 10th minute.
Speaking in his post-match presser, the former Super Eagles gaffer hailed his team's comfortable victory in the Matchday 34 fixture.
“We didn’t suffer much; it was a game that we controlled properly, with not too much stress at the back. We didn’t create much either,” Finidi told the club’s media after the game.
“If you look at the overall performance of the team, it was a good one. We are quite happy with the performance and the victory.”
The Pride of Rivers will be looking to maintain their winning momentum when they take on Kano Pillars in their next league encounter.
