A Nigerian footballer who was playing in Cyprus has passed away. The 20-year-old, identified as Paul Julius, died following a tragic car accident in Protaras, Famagusta District.

The young forward had signed for his club, Enosis Neon Paralimni FC (ENP), just three weeks ago and was about to make his debut when the incident happened.

His death has saddened the football world in Cyprus, with ENP expressing their grief over his loss. The statement mentioned his remarkable resilience and determination despite the challenges he faced in his short life.

"APOEL FOOTBALL (PODOSFAIRO) LTD expresses its deepest condolences to the family of ENP and the relatives of football player Paul Julius who was killed in a car accident this morning. He was only 20 years old...His memory is eternal," the club wrote.

AEL Limassol, another major Cypriot club, also shared their heartfelt sympathy, with the President, Board of Directors, and staff offering their sincere condolences to Julius's family and the ENP community.
