The Nigeria Volleyball Federation has announced that it has received approval from the Federal Government to host the 2021 African Nations Girls U-18 volleyball championship.

The championship is scheduled for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja from January 29 to February 7, 2021.

According to the Chairman of Media and Publicity, NVF, Kehinde Lamidi, the ministry in a letter signed by the permanent secretary, Gabriel Aduda, gave the federation the green light to host the championship.

“In preparation for the female national team for the continental championship, the federation is organising an open trial for the players under the age bracket to converge on the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna from December 10 to 13 to select players that will be invited to the national camp,” Lamidi stated in a letter made available to our correspondent on Wednesday.

“For the continental championship, the federation has put all machinery in place to ensure a successful hosting of the tournament with special reference to the strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocols.”
