Former Super Eagles midfielder, Edema Fuludu has likened Nigeria's clash with Sao Tome and Principe to a training match.
The Super Eagles crushed Sao Tome by 10-0 in their second 2023 AFCON qualifier match in Agadir, Morocco, and have since received huge praises from fans and football followers across the globe.
Despite praising the Eagles for their excellent performance, the ex-midfielder warned the players not to get ahead of themselves considering the fact that they played against a side ranked 183.
“It was like a practice match for the Eagles, and they performed excellently, which means in practice, they are able to execute what they need to do when they play against bigger teams.” He told PUNCH Sports Extra.
He added that there is still more room for improvement and more work to be done by coach Jose Peseiro.
“However, this is still time for team building by Jose Peseiro, and because he is new, the players want to give their all to remain in the team.
Edema Fuludu was part of the Nigeria team that won the AFCON in 1994.
