Villarreal manager Unai Emery has ruled out a January exit for Samuel Chukwueze but reckons the Nigerian could move in future The PUNCH reports.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United in January with the Red Devils willing to activate the release clause of £71m for the Nigeria international according to La Razon.

Real Madrid, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool and Wolves are also eager to bolster their squad with Chukwueze who has netted one goal and provided three assists in seven starts for Villarreal in the current LaLiga campaign.

“We’re very happy with Chukwueze, he’s growing up here with us in this group and his performance is getting better little by little,” Emery told a pre-match conference ahead of Villarreal’s Europa league game against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday (today).

“But above all we want to achieve with him good performances with his skill and capacity. “He’s very young and has an exciting future but first he’s with us and trying to get better with his performance for us and the national team.

“In the future, he can go to another league to develop more but I think he’s very happy with us and every match he plays, he tries to give the best performance.”
