Ekong records second highest clearance in EPL

William Troost-Ekong holds the second highest record of defensive clearance in the Premier League so far this season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

According to the Premier League statistics, Ekong has made 28 clearances this season alongside Leicester City’s Caglar Soyuncu.Brighton’s Shane Duffy leads the chart with 29 clearances after five games.

Wilfred Ndidi is placed 66th in the chart with nine clearances compared to his compatriots Oghenekaro Etebo and Alex Iwobi who are in the 146th position with four clearances each and Frank Onyeka who is placed 200th with just three clearances.

Also, Leicester star, Ndidi leads the way for Nigerian players in the EPL when it comes to tackles with 13 so far this season, eight ahead of closest rival Emmanuel Dennis in 23rd position.

Etebo who has been booked three times this season is ranked 31st with 11 successful tackles while the trio Onyeka, Iwobi and Ekong are placed 78th, 147th and 182nd respectively according to the Premier League statistics.
