Egbo’s Tirana to face Tbilisi in UCL qualifiers

Nigerian manager Ndubuisi Egbo will lead Albanian champions FK Tirana against Georgian side, Dinamo Tbilisi, in their 2020/21 UEFA Champions League first-round qualifying fixture.

According to the Champions League first-round qualifying fixtures, the tie is billed for either August 18th or 19th.

The game will be a one-off tie with extra time and a penalty shoot-out in the event of a stalemate.

Winners of the tie will advance to the Champions League second qualifying round, while the losing sides progress to the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round.

Egbo became the first African coach to qualify a club for the Champions League with Tirana, after winning the 2019/20 Albanian league.

Other fixtures will see Slovan, Bratislava, which parade Nigerians Ezekiel Henty and Rabiu Ibrahim, clash with KI from Faroes Island.

Yusuf Otubanjo and his Armenian league winners, Ararat Armenia, will play Cyprus side, Omonia, while Leke James and Swedish side, Molde, square up against KuPS.
