Eagles will improve - Simon

The Super Eagles The Super Eagles

Super Eagles forward, Moses Simon, has promised that the team will do better in subsequent games after qualifying for the play-offs round of the Qatar 2022 World Cup on Tuesday.

The three-time African champions squeezed past Cape Verde on Tuesday after playing a 1-1 draw at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, a performance that angered several of the country’s sporting fans who slammed the team for lack of pattern and calling for the sack of the head coach, Gernot Rohr.

The team in recent matches have not been on top of their game which the fans believe to be as a result of the coach’s poor tactics with many suggesting that he’s not the right man to lead the Eagles crop of talented players.

Simon who featured in the game before being taken off for Shehu Abdullahi says he’s happy with the result but promise the team can do better in terms of performance going forward.

We know our fans expect more from the team and we believe we can do more,” Simon told BBC Sport Africa.

“The players have a role to play and hopefully we can continue to improve and make our fans happy.”
