EPL: What Lampard did to David Luiz before selling him to Arsenal for £8m -

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard berated Defender David Luiz over his performance for the Blues before selling him to their Premier League rivals, Arsenal, for £8million on transfer deadline day, The Independent reports.

Lampard was said to have come hard on Luiz, who originally featured in his plans, over his pre-season performance for Chelsea which created a tension between the two men.

The newspaper also reports that Lampard and Luiz were more than happy to part ways.

DAILY POST had reported that Luiz joined Arsenal from Chelsea on transfer deadline earlier this month.

Commenting on his move to Arsenal, the 32-year-old said: “I spoke with Frank Lampard, he had a different plan for the year.

“So I had this opportunity to receive an offer from Arsenal, which is a great club.

“I still respect Chelsea. It’s never easy for people to understand everything that goes on.

“But my decision was also to respect Chelsea and their new manager, who wanted to implement a different philosophy at the club.

“And so I decided to get on this new journey, a new home, where I’ll do everything to shine as well.”

The Brazilian international made his debut for Arsenal in their 2-1 victory against Burnley last weekend.
