EPL: Three managers lined up as potential replacement for Guardiola at Man City

Three managers have reportedly been lined up as potential replacement for Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

The Spanish tactician has been rumoured to quit his role at the Etihad Stadium at the end of the current campaign.

Guardiola’s contract with the Cityzens runs until 2027; however, there is growing speculation suggesting that the 55-year-old could leave the club after spending a decade at the helm.

Manchester City’s hierarchy are said to be proactive in identifying the right manager to take over the reins should Guardiola decide to step down.

Top of the list is former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, who previously worked as an assistant to Guardiola during his time at the club.

Maresca was reportedly sacked by Chelsea on New Year’s Day following a fallout with the club’s hierarchy.

Also on City’s radar is Como head coach Cesc Fàbregas. The former Spanish midfielder has been credited with doing an impressive job at the Italian club, who currently sit sixth in Serie A.

The latest name to join the list is Xabi Alonso. Alonso was reportedly sacked by Real Madrid last month despite boasting an impressive win rate with Los Blancos.
