EPL: Rio Ferdinand predicts club that will win Premier League title this season -

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has predicted that Manchester City will win the Premier League title this season.

Pep Guardiola’s City amassed 98 points during the 2018/2019 campaign, but still only won the league on the final day of the season by one point ahead of Liverpool.

City will attempt to complete a hat-trick of title triumphs this season, after beating Liverpool in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday.

After the match, Ferdinand was asked on BT Sport, whether he believed City would win the league by six points this season.

He replied: “They won this game and they beat a strong Liverpool team without Laporte, Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero, the three who were probably their most important players last season.

“That gives you confidence. Otamendi, just two days training, comes in and plays.

“That shows you the depth of this squad, you need the depth and the quality in order to sustain title challenges and in the other competitions.

“That is the culture of this club now and that is the scary thing for all the other clubs challenging.”
