Former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is reportedly set to replace Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
According to BBC, the former midfielder has offered to replace the Portuguese tactician as the new Manchester United manager.
Amorim has come under immense pressure due to the Red Devils' poor start to the 2025/2026 campaign.
The pressure on the 40-year-old intensified following United's 3-1 loss away to Brentford in the English Premier League over the weekend.
Amorim, who had beaten Chelsea in their last league fixture, has failed to win back-to-back Premier League games since replacing Erik ten Hag in November 2024.
According to BBC Sport, the United hierarchy remains supportive of the Portuguese gaffer despite the team's string of poor results.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Xavi Hernandez has been studying the Manchester United team and will be willing to take up the job when handed the opportunity.
According to reports, the lack of European football will not prevent the Spaniard from taking up the job.
