Following the disappointment of squandering a two-goal advantage at Stamford Bridge against newly promoted Leeds United, the Blues have suffered another major blow.

The indispensable Marc Cucurella is expected to miss the club’s upcoming matches after sustaining an injury during last night’s encounter.

The Spaniard suffered a hamstring injury and was substituted at half-time for Jorrel Hato.

Head coach Liam Rosenior, in his post-match press conference, disclosed that the substitution was forced due to injury and not a tactical decision.

He added that the former Brighton & Hove Albion defender will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

“He felt his hamstring at half-time,” Rosenior told the media, speaking about Cucurella’s substitution.

“It wasn’t a tactical decision; it was forced.

“Cucu has been doing really well and we hope he’s okay. We’ll do the scans and check if he can play in the next game.”
