EPL: Chelsea board makes decision Enzo Maresca after Brighton defeat

The Chelsea hierarchy insists that manager Enzo Maresca's position is not under any threat following the club's poor form in recent matches.

The Blues have not won any of their last four matches in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, recording three defeats and one draw.

After consecutive losses to Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Brighton & Hove Albion, Maresca has come under immense pressure, with some outlets reporting that the Italian's job could be at risk.

However, according to reports, the Blues' owners have noted that the team has lost just five matches in the last six months, with a player being sent off in four of those games.

The club also believes that it is currently battling injuries to some key players in the squad, with the likes of Cole Palmer and Liam Delap all on the sidelines.

The Blues will welcome Benfica to Stamford Bridge in the UEFA Champions League this week, in what will be a homecoming for Jose Mourinho.
