Bundesliga giants, Borussia Dortmund have taken their chase for UD Almeria forward Sadiq Umar a notch higher.

Spanish website, FútbolFantasy, reports that the German club are in the search of a new striker and have identified the Super Eagles striker as a likely option going into next season.

Sadiq has been in an impressive form for Almeria scoring 18 goals and providing 12 assists to help the Andalusians secure promotion to the Spanish top flight.

Many clubs caught wind of his performance in the Spanish Segunda B and have been in pursuit of his signature following Almeria's promotion to La Liga.

The Spanish publication is reporting that the ex-Roma forward has left his home in El Toyo and didn't renew his rent, fuelling speculations that a move to Germany could be on the cards.

“Umar Sadiq is not guaranteed his continuity at UD Almería next season after the club received an offer of €25m for the 25-year-old Nigerian striker on Tuesday,” the website wrote as quoted by PUNCH Sports Extra.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has also confirmed that the club will be signing a striker soon.
