Dessers reveals the manager with most impact on his career

Cyriel Dessers says he enjoyed working with Dutch manager Arne Slot at Feyenoord.

Slot and the Nigerian forward enjoyed a productive 2021-2022 campaign together, reaching the UEFA Conference League final.

Dessers scored 22 goals, including a brace against Marseille in the semi-final first leg in Rotterdam.

“It still gives me goosebumps,” he responds to NU.nl.

“The stadium exploded in such a way, and that was the best game of my career. Everything was right.”

Dessers who now plays for Cremonese in Italy then named Arne Slot as the best manager he ever had.

“He knew how the opponent played and countered it completely. He thought two, three steps ahead. With Erik ten Hag, he is the best trainer I’ve had.”
