Super Eagles forward, Cyriel Dessers has aimed a dig at Genk over claims that he wants to force his way out of the club following his trip to Denmark.

The 27-year-old met with the manager of FC Copenhagen, Jess Thorup, and the club's Sporting Director, Peter Christiansen on Tuesday, July 26.

The meeting fuelled speculations over his imminent exit from the club.

Genk Sporting Director, Dimitri De Conde described the move as not the best course of action.

Despite the ongoing criticism, Dessers featured for Genk in their 3-1 win against Standard Liege in the Belgium Pro League.

The Nigerian international proved his worth by scoring twice in the encounter.

Speaking to the press after the game, the forward commented on his recent visit to Copenhagen.

“If I’m in Barcelona in the summer, no one will link me to Barca. I don’t know why that is,” he told Eleven Sports as per Brila.

The ex-Feyenoord forward has scored 3 goals in his last two games for Genk.
