Nigerian striker David Okereke is reportedly set to join Italian Serie B side Benevento this summer.

The 28-year-old is expected to join the newly promoted side as a free agent.

The former Cremonese forward is expected to sign a two-year deal with the club.

Okereke is set to undergo his medical on Monday, August 10, before the deal becomes official.

The Nigerian forward turned down interest from Major League Soccer (MLS), the Turkish Super Lig and Serie A side Sampdoria to join Benevento.

Okereke could make his debut for Benevento in their Coppa Italia clash against Fiorentina on Friday, August 14.
