World champions Argentina have successfully defended their Copa America title, defeating Colombia 1-0 in the final at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in the early hours of Monday, July 15.

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal in extra time, securing La Albiceleste's record 16th Copa America title.

The 26-year-old's fifth goal of the tournament earned him the top scorer award.

This victory marks Argentina's third consecutive tournament triumph, following their wins at the 2021 Copa America, 2022 World Cup, and now the 2024 Copa America.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi was substituted in the 66th minute after sustaining an injury in the 64th minute.

The game was Angel Di Maria's last game in the Argentina shirt. The former Real Madrid and PSG winger was voted Man-of-the-Match.
