Napoli Head Coach Antonio Conte has clarified the situation surrounding Victor Osimhen's potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, stating that the Super Eagles striker will be sold as negotiations between the clubs continue.
Conte, who joined Napoli at the start of the preseason, has made it clear that Osimhen does not feature in his plans. While being cautious with his words due to ongoing negotiations, Conte emphasized that some players must leave to make way for new arrivals.
"We have re-aligned our ideas and clarified the situation of some important footballers," Conte said. "Now, we enter the second phase, understanding who is worthy of Napoli and who is not. After the pre-season retreat, we'll assess the work to be done with the sporting director."
Napoli has already signed Rafa Marin, Leonardo Spinazzola, and Alessandro Buongiorno, which Conte was aware of. "It's all going as planned. We face every situation correctly. As I said, we re-align, evaluate, and then there will be sales and new signings. The vision is clear, and there won't be any problems."
If the deal is completed, Osimhen will return to France after four seasons in Italy, following his transfer from Lille to Napoli. During his time at Napoli, he played 108 Serie A games, scoring 65 goals, and 24 games in other competitions, netting 11 goals.
