Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has stated that his side is on the cusp of history after booking a place in the final of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.

Luis Enrique-led team secured their spot by dismantling 15-time European champions Real Madrid 4-0 in their semi-final clash.

A defensive blunder by youngster Raul Asencio in failing to control a ball paved the way for Ballon d’Or candidate Ousmane Dembélé to poke the ball to Fabián Ruiz, who put Le Parisien in front, with just six minutes on the clock.

A few minutes later, PSG doubled the lead when another error at the back, this time by Toni Rudiger, allowed Ousmane Dembélé to find the back of the net.

Fabian Ruiz would get his second of the game when he was assisted by the effective Hakimi, who provided a pinpoint pass. There was no way back for Xabi Alonso and his Real Madrid team.

Substitute Gonçalo Ramos sealed the victory after some clever footwork from Bradley Barcola opened up space for him, and he finished with aplomb past Thibaut Courtois.

Victory on Sunday against Chelsea will mean PSG has won all the competitions in which they have participated. They already won the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, the French Cup, and the French Supercup.

Luis Enrique told reporters that his side is just one game away from history. He said:

"We are one game away to not just make history but to build to history of Paris, of a French club that might get every cup, every tournament. This is very significant for us, for our fans."

Chelsea will battle PSG on Sunday for a chance to lift the inaugural edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.
