Chelsea boss, Pochettino wins first trophy in England; fans get talking

Football fans could not hide their cheeky digs at Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino who won his first trophy in England in the Soccer Aid charity cup.

Pochettino is due to take over officially as Chelsea boss on July 1 after agreeing to a two-year contract after weeks of an extensive search for a permanent replacement for Graham Potter, which involved Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann.

He has been pulling strings behind the scenes but can not take charge till July due to the terms of his contract when he left Paris Saint-Germain.

The competition began in 2006 to raise money for UNICEF towards charity. According to National World, it has raised over £90m, with the 2023 edition raising over £14m.

Fans' reaction to Pochettino’s win

According to talkSPORT, the Argentine led team World XI to a 4-2 victory over team England XI managed by Chelsea women's boss Emma Hayes at Old Trafford yesterday.

It was his first trophy on English soil despite previously managing Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, and it got fans talking.
