Former Super Eagles striker John Utaka has expressed his readiness to coach any of Nigeria's youth teams, should the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) offer him the opportunity.

Utaka transitioned into coaching after retiring from professional football in 2020.

Recent reports suggested that the former striker had been appointed as the coach of ASPTT Montpellier's women's team.

However, Utaka has now declared his intentions to coach one of Nigeria’s youth sides if given the chance by the NFF.

Speaking in an interview with Brila FM, the 43-year-old said, “If the NFF calls me, I'll be glad to come. The job is to coach the players to their maximum potential.”

Utaka enjoyed a successful club career, winning titles with Montpellier, Portsmouth, and Al Sadd. He also earned 44 caps for the Super Eagles, scoring six goals for the three-time African champions.
