Team Nigeria at the Commonwealth have had a not-to-impressive outing but at least it is satisfactory.

One person that has made it more pleasant to be a Nigerian at this point is Nwachukwu Goodness who drew attention after a record-breaking start to her outing at the games.

The 23-year-old secured Nigeria's fourth gold medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham setting world records in her first two throws.

Her impressive throw stirred the crowd to wild applause inside the Alexander Stadium on Thursday.

Before now, she held the F42 world record holder with the best mark of 33.35m, but on Thursday, she improved on that distance with her first throw of 34.84m which she further improved upon with a throw of 36.56m, Premium Times wrote.

The Nigerian could not throw further in her subsequent attempts.

Team Nigeria remains in the tenth position on the overall medal table with 4 gold medals, 1 silver and 5 bronze.
