Football fans worldwide, especially Nigerians, were thrilled on Monday, December 16, 2024, when Ademola Lookman won the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
Lookman received the night's top award, being named the African Footballer of the Year in the male category.
The Atalanta star won the prize ahead of Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra, PSG’s Achraf Hakimi, Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy, and South Africa goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
The 27-year-old followed his Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen, who won the award last year.
