Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, has reacted to his team’s loss to Pyramids FC, DAILY POST reports.
The defending champions thrashed Rivers United 3-0 in a CAF Champions League Group A fixture at the 30 June Stadium, Cairo, on Saturday night.
Rivers United held the hosts in the first half, but fell apart after the break.
Ahmed Atef El Sayed scored all three goals for the home team.
Finidi said errors and poor finishing caused his team’s defeat.
“We played well but the final touch was not there,” Finidi said.
“We did well in the first half and in the second half, their first goal was a mistake from our defender. If you allow a team like this to score, they will gain momentum, and from that they got their second goal, and from there the game was over.”
