Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel could land in trouble on his return from international duty.
This comes against the backdrop of the defender's violent clash with an armed pitch invader during Fenerbahce's clash with Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig on March 17.
According to reports, the fan involved in the clash was reportedly admitted to the intensive care unit.
Miraç Kara, who is the lawyer representing the fan has reportedly taken legal action against Osayi-Samuel and two other teammates.
He alleges that the Nigerian full back and his teammates kicked the fan in the head multiple times leading to severe injury including brain haemorrhage.
Fotospor reports that the player who is currently at the Super Eagles camp in Morocco is expected to give his statement on the incident when he returns.
Earlier reports claimed that the Osayi-Samuel could be slapped with a 10-game ban for the incident.
Osayi-Samuel may face further punishment, including referral to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Disciplinary Committee, as per Article 44 of the Turkish football discipline rules which stipulate potential bans ranging from three months to a year for such infractions, as per Sportsbrief.
