Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche was dealt a huge blow after Crystal Palace dropped him from their squad list for the Europa Conference League.
Uche's name was conspicuously missing after the Eagles submitted their 24-man squad for the third-tier UEFA club competition.
The former Getafe man was sacrificed for new signings Brennan Johnson, Jørgen Strand Larsen and Evann Guessand.
The Nigerian international joined Palace on a season-long loan from Getafe in the Spanish La Liga.
As part of the agreement, there is an obligation to buy should the player make 10 starts for Oliver Glasner's side.
Uche has made 13 appearances for the Eagles in the Premier League, starting just one of them.
