'Better than Stamford Bridge' — Fans awestruck by the elegance of Akwa Ibom Stadium

Nigerians have hailed the elegance of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium after photos of the edifice surfaced on online.

Formerly called Akwa Ibom International Stadium, the 30,000-capacity national sports stadium is located in Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom.

The venue serves as the home ground for the Super Eagles and also functions as a center for various social, cultural, political, and religious events.

The multipurpose stadium was modelled after Allianz Arena, the home of German giants Bayern Munich.
