Beşiktaş head coach Sergen Yalçın has heaped praise on Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi following his side’s victory over Göztepe in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Super Eagles midfielder starred as Beşiktaş thumped their opponents 4-0 at home.

Ndidi scored the opener in the ninth minute before Amir Murillo, Junior Olaitan and Oh Hyeon-gyu added the other goals to seal the emphatic victory.

It was Ndidi’s second goal of the season for the Black Eagles.

Yalçın showered praise on the Nigerian midfielder in his post-match interview.

“There’s something you probably didn’t notice today. Ndidi played perfectly,” Yalçın said after the game.

“Ndidi delivered one of the best performances we’ve had. When our players fight and play like this, even if we lose, it won’t be a problem for us. We can accept defeat if we show this kind of spirit.

“But losing without putting up a fight is the worst thing for us. That’s why our players must continue to show this character. If we lose after fighting like this, I will take responsibility. It’s not a problem for us.”

The victory propelled Beşiktaş to fourth position in the league, behind Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor.
