Awoniyi wants Union Berlin teammate Sheraldo Becker at Forest

Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has expressed his desire to play alongside his former teammate Sheraldo Becker in the Premier League.

Despite splashing millions on signing in the summer on their return to the English topflight, Steve Cooper's side is yet to find the right balance in attack.

Becker, 27, has been heavily linked to Forest in the Premier League as the Reds' struggle for goals continues.

The Suriname forward has been in remarkable form this season after managing 7 goals and 5 assists this season.

Becker has disclosed speaking to his former teammate Awoniyi amid the transfer speculations.

He revealed that the ex-Liverpool man would love having him switch to the City Ground.

“Friends sent me screenshots of the messages (concerning Forest rumours), Becker said as per Bild

“Personally, I didn’t get a call from them (Nottingham Forest)

“Of course, I spoke to him (Awoniyi), he also saw the news. We had a good time together. ‘If you come, I would be happy’. But I answered him: I haven’t heard from anyone.”

Awoniyi is slowly finding his goal-scoring boots at Forest after netting 5 goals across all competitions this season.
