Atalanta boss Juric reveals why Lookman wanted to leave the club

Atalanta manager Ivan Juric has disclosed that Ademola Lookman was misled by people around him in the wake of the controversies surrounding his future in the summer.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year was bent on leaving La Dea after Inter Milan showed keen interest in him.

Lookman made his first appearance for Atalanta last weekend after coming on a substitute minute during Atalanta's 3-0 victory against Torino.

The Super Eagles international replaced Ghanaian international Kamaldeen Sulemana in the 87th minute.

Speaking in a post-match reaction, Juric disclosed that Lookman and the club resolved their long-standing issues last week and emphasized the need for the 28-year-old to be in a great physical shape.

“He (Lookman) spoke to me and the team on Monday, he was surrounded by people who had given him some bad advice,” he was quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“He has a great winning mentality and now we need to get him back in shape physically.”
