Aston Villa appreciates Tanzanians for their support

English Premier League side, Aston Villa, has officially expressed gratitude to the people of Tanzania for their support during the Carabao Cup semi-final victory.

Their local hero Mbwana “Ally” Samatta made his debut for the Villains on Tuesday night and the club described the Tanzanians' support as "amazing".

He was substituted in the 67th minute in the Carabao Cup match against Leicester City. Aston Villa won 2-1.

27-year-old Samatta joined the PL side for £8.5m on the 20th of January from Genk.

Thousands of Tanzanians football fans gathered to watch the match projected in giant screens in the coastal city of Dar es Salaam.

The PL side shared a video of the fans sourced from a local TV station on their official Twitter page.

"Thank you, Tanzania. Amazing support for @Samagoal77_ as he made his Villa debut last night," the club said.
