Mikel Arteta Mikel Arteta

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has lauded his side’s consistency and maturity displayed in the 3-1 win against Burnley on Saturday, November 11 at the Emirates Stadium.

Leandro Trossard scored first for the home team in the closing stages of the first half.

Josh Brownhill equalised for Burnley in the 54th minute but subsequent goals from William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko sealed the victory for the Gunners.

In an interview with arsenal.com, Arteta praised the “bite and teeth” of the team in the right moments.

“The level and the consistency the team is showing, how we are playing, how the team is competing, we are always there,” Arteta said.

The team is showing real maturity as well as a lot of hunger to be there and show a bit of bite and teeth in the right moments. I’m really pleased with the performance, the way the team played, how much the team generated, the approach we had from the beginning .

”We talked about it that it was going to be to tough. We’ve played a lot of games, a lot of minutes and this was going to be something very different to the last two games and the team was really mature. Patient, but with the right aggression as well, and I think we fully deserved to win the game.”

Arsenal have eight wins, three draws and one defeat so far in the Premiership this season and they are second on the table with 27 points from 12 games.

They are first position in Group B of the UEFA Champions League with nine points accrued after four matches.

Burnley are languishing in 19th position on the Premier League table with four points after 12 games.

The Gunners’ next league fixture is against Brentford on Saturday, November 25 at the Gtech Community Stadium.
