Everton manager, Carlo Ancelotti, says Nigerian midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has the quality to be better than he is at the moment.

The Toffees beat Arsenal 2-1 last weekend, with the Nigerian playing a huge part in the win, providing the cross that led to the hosts’ first goal against his former club.

“This is Alex’s best period in my year at the club and now there is the opportunity for him to keep getting better,” Ancelotti told the club’s website.

“Iwobi had his chance for our match at Fulham and since then has stayed in the line-up.

“He can feel the belief of his manager and teammates and his confidence is high.

“I have faith in all of my squad and whoever plays is ready to help the team,” Ancelotti said.

Iwobi, who joined the Toffees from Arsenal in 2019, has scored a goal in 15 appearances this season.
