Anayo Iwuala says he’s unsure if moving to Espérance of Tunisia will affect his place in the National Team, but he’s focused on helping his new club.

The 22-year-old broke into the Super Eagles squad following his brilliant performance for Enyimba in the 2020-2021 Football Season.

The former Delta Force scored six goals and created 16 others to help Enyimba qualify for CAF Confederation Cup next season.

He made his debut for Super Eagles against Benin Republic back in March and he has gone to feature in all the four games the team hasplayed since then.

Speaking to BBC, Iwuala says he’s excited to join the Ligue Professionnelle 1 outfit, but he’s not sure, if the move is enough to preserve his place in the National Team.

“From my position [playing in Nigeria] once I saw a chance here with the club I decided to grab the opportunity,” he insisted.

“I need to focus on the job, helping the team achieve more success and that remains the main priority of every professional footballer.

“I also look forward to working with coach Radhi Jaidi and prove myself under him. That is the immediate target for now.

“I don’t know if coming here will further help me establish myself in the Super Eagles, but I know I will give my best here and that’s all I can do for now,” he said.
