Amusan qualifies for women’s 100m hurdles final at World Championships in Tokyo

In Tokyo, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan soared into the final of the women’s 100 metres hurdles at the World Athletics Championships, cementing her place after a commanding semifinal run on Monday.

The 28-year-old blazing across the track in 12.36 seconds, outpacing her rivals Nadine Visser of the Netherlands, who finished in 12.45 seconds, and Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska with a time of 12.51 seconds.

Positioned in lane four, Amusan faced a formidable lineup that included Visser—fresh off a personal best of 12.28 seconds—and season-best performers Skrzyszowska and American Alaysha Johnson, who had clocked 12.32 this year.

Demonstrating precision and poise, Amusan executed a flawless start and maintained her momentum to clinch automatic qualification.

Her stellar performance marks her fourth straight appearance in a World Championships final, with the women’s 100m hurdles final set to take place Tuesday in Tokyo.
